Two Wayang Rumput or grass-puppets made of KASURAN-grass.
Rocking cradle made of white lacquered iron. This more or less simple construction was made around 1920 – 1925. Originally imported from Europe, were these doll-cradles soon imitated. The museum cradle was bought in Semarang in 2007. Maker unknown. Length ± 70cm. Height ± 100cm
Sebuah teater mainan dari kertas bernama “Teater Mainan Pollock”. Terbuat seluruhnya dari kertas karton tebal yang dipotong-potong.
The Learned Rabbit, the hero of a puppet-play that was based on a well-known children’s book. This hand and stock-puppet was made for the famous Polish (Warsaw) puppet-theater “ARLEQUIN” before 1975. Previous in RC Collection. Was donated to the Museum Kolong Tangga in 2007. The Rabbit is now a part of the museum’s puppetry collection.
This Dakon-board is ± 120cm long and very heavy because a decorated beam (most likely of a pendopo) was taken to become the central part of the game-board. A mix of a dragon and a bird image at both ends, give the traditional outlook to this certainly Javanese object.
A Ndebele Doll is a traditional Zulu doll, made of clay and decorated with intricate patterns. It is a symbol of cultural heritage and is often used in traditional ceremonies.
